Unfortunately, for this reason, it has been amplyfied causing a <strong>savage colture<\/strong> which has yet begun to <strong>compromise the growth<\/strong> of the precious oysters.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Sustainable cultivation\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/header_sustainable-pearls.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"415\" height=\"227\"><\/p>\n<p>In 1994, to obviate to this limitless exploitation and create a free oasis of proliferation, Tiffany &amp; Co. Foundation, along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/ieds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vermont University<\/a> and in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cobi.org.mx\/?pag=inicio&amp;sp=&amp;idioma=eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COBI<\/a>, has created the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainablepearls.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sustainable Pearls<\/a> project to establish a <strong>controlled cultivation<\/strong> and to <strong>preserve the marine fauna<\/strong> in the Pacific areas.<\/p>\n<p>The situation was terrible, a decimated population with only 88 <strong>Pinctada mazatlantica<\/strong> and 54 <strong>Pteria Sterna<\/strong>, because of the rarity of these types of pearls that caused a brutal ravage.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the <strong>cages<\/strong> used in this project, results didn&#8217;t wait to come, becoming not only a good instrument to protect the oysters but also a great way to help them <strong>reproduct<\/strong> in an easier way: the <strong>neighborhood<\/strong> is essential and this element fails in nature, making them survive <strong>only 10 egg cells out of 1 milion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Pearl cultivation - French Polinesia\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/pearl_farms_on_Ahe_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"227\"><\/p>\n<p>The data collect in the latest years have showed positive results even for the surrounding marine fauna that considerably grew thanks to the cages and the <strong>seaweeds<\/strong> which grew on them, attracting many <strong>invertebrats and fish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Albeit the frequent attempts of illegal fishing in this regenerated areas, <strong>this project goes on<\/strong> involving more and more pearl businesses all around the world in order to <strong>promote a responsible cultivation<\/strong> along with great <strong>environmental and socio-economical benefits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite the poor results of the first attempts, pearl cultivation is a rich and thriving business that produces every year a big revenue.
