But not every pearl is like we usually immagine, white, ethereal and covered with a thick layer of mother-of-pearl.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Perle Melo Melo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/perles-melo-variete.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"283\" height=\"193\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Melo Melo pearls<\/strong> are very particular pearls which, like Conch ones, don&#8217;t have an actual layer of mother-of-pearl but rather a layer of <strong>calcareous concrection<\/strong> that can change from <strong>deep brown to orange<\/strong> with a <strong>8 to 40 mm in diameter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Like all the other pearls, this type comes to life in a <strong>spontaneous and casual way<\/strong> as a <strong>natural defense reaction<\/strong> toward a <strong>foreign body<\/strong> which provokes an irritation to the mussel.<\/p>\n<p>Beside the structure and color, the most important detail, which distinguishes these pearls from the other types, is <strong>the mussel<\/strong> that produces them: it isn&#8217;t an oyster, but rather a <strong>particular specimen of snail<\/strong>, called <strong>Melo Melo<\/strong>, that lives mainly in the <strong>seas of Southern China<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Lumaca Melo Melo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/mollusque-melo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"308\" height=\"226\"><\/p>\n<p>Its <strong>rarity<\/strong> is well known as to generate <strong>several legends<\/strong> on these Vietnamise &#8220;flaming pearls&#8221;, and their finding is once more left to the case during the fishing of this snail since, like the Conch pearls, its cultivationis still impossible due to still <strong>unknow creation processes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nature is unpredictable and fascinating, being able to create extraordinary things like pearls.
