But not everybody knows that even the most <strong>common clams<\/strong> are able to <strong>produce pearls without nacre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/clam-pearl-18-cts-21471955.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2360\" title=\"clam-pearl-18-cts-21471955\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/clam-pearl-18-cts-21471955.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Theoretically every bivalve could be albe to produce pearls, for this reason every single pearl created by a bivalve &#8211; independently of the typology &#8211; is called &#8220;Clam pearl&#8221;; nevertheless these findings have mainly happened with the <strong>Meretrix lusoria<\/strong> clam, fished mainly in the North-Eastern coasts of America for its tasty fruit.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>absence of nacre<\/strong> in the pearl&#8217;s composition doesn&#8217;t affect it value at all, which is immoderately balanced out not only by its <strong>rarity<\/strong> but also for the characteristic structure this pearl owns: <strong>needle-like pillar structure<\/strong> which can vaguely a luminous <strong>pattern<\/strong> with <strong>little flames<\/strong> that radiate from below the surface of the pearl.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/clam-pearl-drop-shape-21403438.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2361\" title=\"clam-pearl-drop-shape-21403438\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genisi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/clam-pearl-drop-shape-21403438.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"317\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beside this particural conformation &#8211; the most sought, so the <strong>most valuable<\/strong> one &#8211; these pearls can have <strong>different colors<\/strong> and <strong>different sizes<\/strong> which have to be calculated in kilograms instead of carats.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Usually pearls are produced &#8211; or cultivated &#8211; from mussels and oysters, which can give birth to the most known and appreciated types of pearls with the typical mother-of-pearl composition.
